In July we ran the first Shortlist at Campfield in Manchester, fifteen of us around one long table on a Friday morning, with one rule that made the whole thing work: nobody sells anything, and that includes us.

In July, we ran the first Shortlist at Campfield in Manchester. I invited around 60 marketers, and 15 highly skilled abm/gtm marketers showed up to share their lived experience of running campaigns, building marketing assets, and trying to scale their capabilities.

And it confirmed something I'd suspected for a while: there is a need for ABM/GTM space for B2B SaaS companies to talk about what's working, without the noise of scaling from 0 to £1b overnight. These pragmatic but exciting sessions help to learn from each other, compare notes, and see what’s worth our time amid all the crazy AI stuff that’s going on.

We have a no-pitching rule, and we’re doing a lot of work behind the scenes to ensure that people in the room are marketers at B2B SaaS companies, or running campaigns on behalf of their clients.

After the session, you’ll have plenty of ideas you can use on Monday, share with your team, or run tests in your sandbox.

We're now making it a monthly series. First Friday of each month, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.:

  • Friday 4 September: building and prioritising your target account list [Register]

  • Friday 2 October: aligning sales and marketing on named accounts [Register]

  • Friday 6 November: reaching the right people inside target companies [Register]

  • Friday 4 December: ABM measurement and proving ROI [Register]

  • Friday 8 January: what actually worked, member case studies [Register]

  • Friday 5 February: growing existing accounts [Register]

Each session opens with a short case study from someone in the room, then moderated table discussions on the topic.

We'd love to see you there.

Our hosts

The Shortlist is generously hosted by Campfield, a tech and media campus run by Department, inside a pair of Grade II-listed Victorian market halls that have been part of Manchester's story since 1878. It's home to hundreds of tech and media businesses, which makes it about the most fitting room in the city for our event.

Big thanks to the Campfield team for having us. If you arrive early, the coffee bar is worth your time.
