Dote had a strong product, a clear brand, and a sharp point of view on parenting - but the software needed to catch up.
The team was working across a wide ecosystem of screens (monitor view, alerts, diary, helpers, onboarding, AI chat, multi-caregiver "villages") and needed a unified design system that could hold it all together without losing the warmth of the brand. They also needed to solve a category-specific problem: most baby monitor apps either over-alarm parents or bury critical information under generic dashboards. Dote wanted the opposite - an interface that reduces mental load, communicates clearly in high-stress moments, and feels like a calm, competent friend rather than an alarm system.

We partnered with Dote on a full UI/UX programme covering the core app experience. We designed and refined over 40 product screens - including the main monitor view, live feed, alerts (cry, sound, motion, offline), notifications, the Dottie AI assistant, onboarding and pairing flows, the diary and tracking settings, the helpers section, the multi-caregiver "villages" model, and account settings.
Alongside the screens, we built a consistent visual language anchored in Dote's Sage Green and Paper White palette, defined component patterns for cards, banners, and badges, and developed a microcopy framework that aligned every alert, empty state, and helper with Dote's four voice pillars: reassuring, empowering, warm, and clear. We also produced concept directions for newer surfaces - including the music player, switch-village flows, and home variants - so the team could pressure-test ideas before committing to a single direction.
